ALONE

Why are we afraid of being alone?

Weren’t we alone in the womb?

We were placed in complete silence.

We are designed to be in solitude.

After birth, we start depending

on our mother for love, care and food.

After marriage, we start depending

on our spouses for several needs.

We want people to rely on us,

It feeds the pride we carry inside.

We enjoy their dependence,

Thinking it makes us strong,

But beneath it all, we forget the truth—

That peace is found in being alone.

When my son walked for the first time,

There was a spasm, a silent ache.

His independence should’ve brought me joy,

But instead, it felt like a loss of my place.

As he grew, I saw his freedom kept soaring

And with it, my sense of pride kept falling.

We’ve forgotten how to live with ourselves,

But living alone doesn’t mean retreating,

To mountains high or caves deep.

It means creating your own quiet space,

A Himalaya within your soul to seek solace.

To stop depending, and to let go,

Of the pride in holding others tight—

That’s the meaning of freedom, right?

To sit with our thoughts in quiet,

Not in noise, not in crowds,

But in the sacred silence within.

True celebration lies in silence,

In the simple presence of your own existence.

It’s not found in loud music or wild dance,

But in self awareness, giving yourself a chance.

So try, start living alone—

And you’ll discover the peace

by setting this beautiful tone.

That erases all sorrow and grief.
